This is the oldest of my designs featured in my portfolio and is one of the first designs in which I feel my abilities as a designer and developer really started to show. This company of custom home builders came to my firm in search of a site through which to showcase their work. They wanted something clean, modern and flashy to catch the attention of potential clients.

With this site I decided to push the skills I had acquired at the time to the limit. I started with a full screen slider to showcase custom homes at various stages in construction. For the main navigation menu I designed something that was much more image-based than what was typical of my designs at the time. Combining this with a dark, muted colour scheme ended up creating a site with a sense of elegance and beauty.

This client would later reach out to us to make their site responsive. Due to the way my firm’s pricing structure was set up we would need to build a second, mobile friendly site that users on mobile devices could be redirected to rather than rebuilding their existing site from scratch. In the creation of this client’s mobile site I would attempt to replicate the initial design as closely as I could while still keeping the site mobile friendly.
